baked beans recipe



Baked Beans Recipe

1 lb. dried navy beans
2 quarts water
1 onion, chopped
3 carrots, thinly sliced
3 stalks celery, thinly sliced
5 minced garlic cloves
1 tsp. black pepper
1 T. kosher salt
2 T. soy sauce
1 cup ketchup
1/2 cup brown sugar

This was originally a crock-pot recipe, and used dried beans.  It may take a good 10 hours in a crock-pot for the beans to cook.  I used some leftover cooked beans,  a little less water and cooked everything on the stove top.  They were delicious!

makes about 8 servings
