Well, we have finally made the move to Georgia. We decided to buy an RV and stay in a mobile home park temporarily until we can get the necessary permits and other arrangements to move the RV to the property.
We wanted to move the RV straight to the property, but there's so
many things to get done before we could move onto the property. We still
have to get a well installed until we can build the rain catchment
cisterns. We are going to install a temporary power pole on the edge of
the property as this will save money on generator gas and we are not yet
financially ready to buy the solar panels required for the earthship.
Then there's the issue of the septic for the RV. Of course all of these
things are necessary to obtain the temporary housing permits required by
the County to move the RV onto the property.
So, while
we work out the electricity, water, sewage, and permitting issues Home
Sweet Home is the Ramsey Mobile Home and RV Park in Warm Springs. We
hope to be here for only a couple of months then onto the property. The
park is really nice though and so far everyone has been great. There is a
pool, bath house (which is clean), and washer/dryer facilities. I think we will enjoy the time we spend at Ramsey.
By the way, moving a 30 foot RV from Florida to Georgia was a little stressful to say the least. I have a whole new respect for RV drivers (though I don't know how anyone could enjoy a vacation worrying about hauling those things to and from the campsite).
